Instructions for Authors
Please ensure that you have completed the following before submitting your manuscript to the Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal:
Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal requires manuscripts to be no longer than 15 pages, provided the information is comprehensive and understandable. For the results to be reproducible, the necessary experimental information must be provided. Authors must publish all experimental controls in the Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal and, whenever practical, make complete datasets accessible.
Both previously published work and work that is being considered for publication in another journal should not be included in manuscripts submitted to Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal. The following are the primary article types:
To submit your manuscript to the Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal, please follow these steps:

Research involving Human Subjects
Authors must state that studies involving subjects, materials, tissues, or data that concern humans were carried out in accordance with the 2013 revision of the 1975 Declaration of Helsinki (https://www.wma.net/what-we-do/medical-ethics/declaration-of-helsinki/). Point 23 of this declaration states that prior to conducting the study or research, approval must be provided by an institutional review board (IRB) or other suitable ethical committee to ensure that the study complies with national and international standards. At least, a declaration letter involving the study identification code, approval date, and name of the Review Board or ethics committee.
For instance, author states that “All authors agreed to participate in the research before they conducted the study. The project with identification code (XXX) and its protocol has been approved by Ethics Committee, and the study was performed in conformity with the Helsinki's Declaration”.
All participants in non-interventional research (e.g., questionnaires, surveys, and social media studies) must be informed if anonymity is ensured, the justifications for conducting the research, how the related information is exchanged, and any correlated risks. A related ethical committee must provide ethical approval before conducting the research for all studies incorporating humans.
In case of ethical permission is not required, researchers are either obliged to present an exemption to the specialized committee or are advised to write their national regulations that identify that ethics approval is not needed for such kind of study. For any exempted research, the author should state the name of the approved ethical committee and comprehensive justification for exemption under the "Institutional Review Board Statement" section.
A written agreement must be declared for publication by the shared patients. For any participant, all his related information must be described comprehensively except identified personal data unless this information is relevant to the study (e.g., particular symptoms on the faces and photos of the participants). Also, the initial identifiers and other personal identities must not be included in any photo. Informed consent must be signed by the patients or the relatives in charge before manuscript submission for Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal if it involves any personal data and/or photos of patients. The personal details that do not significantly affect the study like age, job, and ethnicity, must not be mentioned as much possible as can. An approval template form exists on the Journal website and it is available for download. A blank form version exempted from the patient's signature and names must be provided synchronously with manuscript submission. Editors are enabled to decline any manuscript that does not fulfill the imposed requirements.
You are advised to download our sample form and deliver a suitable one by consulting your affiliated faculty or institute. To publish in Al-Khwarizmi Engineering Journal, a print, electronic and online approval form must be released for publication in reprinted and licensed works under open access mode. The Alkej has the right to acquire a signed form if needed along with the privacy and personality of the participant patient must be regarded.
For studies that publish data about vulnerable individuals, double checks must be carried out. The editor in chief will go through the entire manuscript and may ask for consent forms if needed. The authors must provide justification regarding their study if it exposes to participants' races, gender, disability, ethnicity, sickness, etc.
The editors will ask the authors whether there is any possible risk to the animals being studied, regardless of the potential merits of the study. Therefore, authors have to replace the animals with possible alternatives, minimize the potentially harmful influence by reducing the no. of experiments and corresponding conditions, and reduce the number of animals under investigation.
Also, a full description of the used housing, pain addressing, and husbandry must be included within the submitted manuscript.
Studies involving vertebrates or higher invertebrates must only be conducted after receiving approval from the relevant ethical committee, if required by national law. Section 'Institutional Review Board Statement' should at the very least include the project identification code, the date of approval, and the name of the ethics committee or institutional review board. The conduct of research processes must adhere to institutional and national regulations. Statements about animal welfare should attest that all applicable laws were followed throughout the study. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, clinical research involving animals and interventions outside of standard care require the scrutiny of an ethics committee. Informed client consent must be sought and verified in the research article report if the study used client-owned animals. Owners have to
If no national regulations organize such cases are available, authors must find an approved ethical committee to provide them with an exception.
There should be awareness by the authors that their manuscripts will be assessed carefully by the editors and reviewers, in case of the unavailability of an animal ethical committee to review their application. From the ethical side, authors should declare a justification statement as the ethics committee utilitarian system does.
Authors should mention the origin of studied cell lines in their research. For identified cell lines, a reference for published work or source should be provided.
If used cell lines were used and not published before, authors must provide approval from the ethics committee. For instance, the type and source of cell lines and corresponding details must be given.
The conducted experiments on farmed or wild plants must be agreed with national or international regulations.
Authors must deposit the genetic information and origin of rare and non-standard plants in the herbarium and make them accessible upon request by future researchers to validate their identity or make re-categorization. The details like type, color, country of origin, company, supplier, ..etc.
ALKEJ adheres to the guidelines of the national committee at the Iraqi Ministry of Health that abide by the authors working in medical research centers to registerer their clinical trials in its public registry.
For pure observational research, registration is not needed. Clinical trials are not limited to investigations conducted inside clinics or use pharmaceuticals but are extended to those that include group categorization and individual randomization under evaluation.
We highly encourage authors to make pre-registration for their clinical trials in an international register for clinical trials and provide a reference for registration.
Details of clinical trials must be provided upon registration as compatible with World Health Organization (WHO). Approval provided by any review body whether it is national or regional does not replace registration of clinical trials.
The authors are encouraged to adhere to equality when mentioning Sex and gender in their research. To avoid any confusion when sex or gender terms are stated, the first one must be referred to the biological feature while the second one is stood based on cultural and social attributes.
The authors must illustrate in the title and abstract of the study, which sex their research was applied to. Also, if there is any variety in gender and/or sex, it must be detailed in the research background. The design and methodology of the research must show sex and gender was taken into account. Territories and Geographic Borders and Potential conflicts on regions and borders are particular issue return to the authors in analyzing their study or in contact address of author or editor in chief, and they should be respected. In case of any prospective disagreement or compliant regarding the content, the editorial board will try to appease all the involved parties via a satisfied decision. Alkej sustains its objectivity pertaining jurisdictional assertions in institutions addresses and published geo-map.
